Privacy policy
Last updated 18 October 2026
This policy explains what we collect when you use nogimmickslab.com, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. “We” means No Gimmicks Media LLC, 8 The Green, Ste B, Dover, DE 19901, USA, which runs No Gimmicks Lab and No Gimmicks Records. Write to support@nogimmickslab.com for anything below.
What we collect
- When you grab a free pack or join a waitlist: your email address, and on some forms your first name and the DAW you use. We also record whether you ticked the box to receive marketing emails.
- When you buy: your name, email, billing country and what you bought. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- When you sign in: your email address, so we can send a one-time sign-in link and show your course or downloads.
- Where you came from: the campaign tags in the link you clicked (for example utm_source=instagram) and the first page you landed on. We store them with your signup or order so we know which posts and pages bring people in.
- Basic usage: page views counted by Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you.
- Advertising measurement, if you allow advertising cookies (when that applies): the Meta Pixel records the pages you view and what you do on them (joining a list, starting a checkout, buying), with your browser details and IP address. When you sign up or buy, we also send Meta your email address, name and country, scrambled (hashed) before they leave our servers, so Meta can match the action to an ad you saw. If you say no, none of this happens.
Why we use it
- To deliver what you asked for: the download, the course, sign-in links and order emails. This is needed to perform our agreement with you.
- To send production tips and offers, only if you ticked the marketing box (your consent). Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects your purchases.
- To keep records for tax and accounting, which the law requires.
- To understand which content and campaigns work, and to prevent abuse of our forms, which is our legitimate interest.
- To measure our Meta ads and show them to people likely to care. In the EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland, Brazil, Quebec and Thailand this is based on your consent from the cookie banner; elsewhere it is our legitimate interest, and you can object to it. Either way, saying no in Cookie settings stops new data going to Meta.
Who processes it for us
| Service | What it does |
|---|---|
| Stripe | Payments, invoices and the record of what you bought |
| Resend | Order emails, sign-in links and download emails |
| Brevo | Our email list and newsletters, for people who opted in |
| Vercel | Hosting this website and cookieless page-view analytics |
| Bunny.net | Delivering course videos and download files |
| Google Drive | Hosting some free download files |
| Meta Platforms Ireland | Ad measurement and targeting through the Meta Pixel and Conversions API, unless you say no (see Cookies below). For this data Meta is a joint controller with us; see Meta’s privacy policy. |
| LaunchPass and Discord | No Gimmicks Lab memberships: billing, and access to the member community |
Some of these companies are in the United States. Where your data leaves the EU or UK, they rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We do not sell your personal data. Unless you say no, we share the data described above with Meta to measure and target ads; under California law that counts as “sharing”. To opt out, choose Reject in Cookie settings or use Global Privacy Control.
Cookies and storage
| Name | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|
| ngl_course | Keeps you signed in to your course and downloads | 30 days |
| ngl_utm | Remembers the campaign link you arrived from | 90 days |
| ngl_consent | Remembers your choice about advertising cookies | 12 months |
| ngl_region | Remembers whether the cookie banner applies where you are (from your IP address’s country, not stored anywhere else) | 1 day |
| _fbp, _fbc (Meta) | Only if advertising cookies are allowed: let Meta recognise your browser and the ad you clicked | 90 days |
| Browser storage | Remembers your cart, your course progress and that you already unlocked a free pack | Until you clear it |
The Meta cookies are advertising cookies. In the EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland, Brazil, Quebec and Thailand, and wherever we cannot tell your location, they load only after you click Accept in the cookie banner. Elsewhere they load unless you say no. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a no everywhere. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of the page. Saying no deletes the Meta cookies.
How long we keep it
Email list contacts stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Order records are kept for as long as tax law requires (usually up to 7 years). Everything else is deleted when it is no longer needed for the purpose above.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, send it to you in a portable format, or stop using it for marketing. If you are in the EU or UK you can also object to processing based on our legitimate interest and complain to your local data protection authority. If you are in California, you have the right to know, delete and correct your data, and we will not treat you differently for using those rights. Email support@nogimmickslab.com and we will reply within 30 days.
Children
Our products are not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. For significant changes we will also tell people on our email list.
